This line is located in Kyushu. It is a short line with a length of 11 km and 10 stations. It is isolated, with no connections to other company-owned lines.
Originally, the line was built by a company called Hakata Wan Railway. It was taken over by the current operating company in 1942 during the war.
Therefore, the track width is slightly narrower at 1067mm. This is the only line of the same company that has different track widths.
All trains currently running on the line are 600 series. The trains are two-car trains all day long and run approximately every 10 to 15 minutes.
The line runs parallel to the JR Kagoshima Main Line. It is also characterized by the fact that it runs parallel to a freight line in the middle of the line.
